Hello Folks:

We are planning for a big family gathering in 2010 and need to make some banking/borrowing decisions. We have an August Use Year and our home resort is AKV.

Because of the point difference, we would like to get a GV at OKW instead of AKV. However, since we can only book OKW at the 7 month window we are worried about availability. If we can stay at OKW we'd do the trip in June or July of 2010 - meaning the 09-10 Use Year. If we do AKV we would have to wait until the end of August of 2010 (lower poinsts) which puts us in the 10-11 use year. To do June/July '10 we would need to bank about 20 points from This Use Year, but, if we can't get the reservation and have to go to the August trip at AKV then we'd lose those banked points.

So - does anyone have any exeperience booking a GV at the 7 month window - espeacilly during the "Magic" season (June/July). We can be pretty flexible in the actual weeks, but we jsut don't want to bank points only to lose then becasuse of having to change to the next use year.

We booked a GV at the 7 month mark for Easter week '08. We wanted OKW, but could not get three of the seven days we needed, and I did not want to waitlist. The only resorts that were available for our entire stay were SSR and AKV. We took SSR and loved it! Since you want to go in the summer, you might have better luck than we did at getting into OKW at 7 months. Good luck!
