Grand villa, magic bands and different states

We officially booked our grand villa! The issue is that I am the primary person on the ressie and my family lives in a different state than the other members of the party. How do magic bands work in that case? Do they all get shipped to me? That is not too much of an issue since we are driving to my sister's before the trip so we can all fly together. So I can bring them. But I would be fun for my 5 year old nephew to get the box in the mail.
Also how does MM work with a large group? Since we are all literally sharing the same room (grand villa) do I just link them in mDE and we are good to go?

You can't have bands sent to different addresses, they'll all go to you.

I did this last month and if I remember correctly I just entered the other address on the MDE site (where you can customize the colors/names). I was the primary name and my account has a Florida address, but my family in Colorado received the bands.

Last year they said you couldn't split them up. So they've fixed that. Or did you just send all the bands to the other address? That you could probably do even last year.

I sent them all the other address. 5/6 members of the party were there, and since I had my own magicband prior, I was able to check-in without them and not worry about getting into the room

They will all be shipped to one address- you can then mail them yourself if you'd like. MM will work for everyone you have linked on your account. We actually had 2 separate reservations for 2 families but were able to all use the same MM a few months ago.
