I just booked a grand villa in Jambo House for next Thanksgiving. Can anyone tell me about their stays there, a room recommendation, etc? Only 11 months away..... gotta start planning!

We stayed there just over two months ago. It was simply awesome!!

We have a trip report with lots of pics on another board. I don't want to run afoul of the DIS rules, so I'll PM you the link.

Have a great time

I stayed in the Jambo GV in March 2009, I cannot recall rm # but it was next to pool, it was incredible. It was huge (had a pool table), spotless, flat screen tv in nearly every room including master bath, large kitchen, large dining table, perfect as we can fam of 6 plus 3 grandparents. We were able to to down the back stairs to the pool which was convenient. Anything we requested arrived promptly (large coffee mugs, extra crib for day guest, rocking chair). Only downside is you cannot get consierge service in the GV? Strange since it is the most expensive room. I would highly recommend!

That's because the GVs are not in the concierge catagory. If you thought the point were bad for GV, just imagine how much higher they would be if it was in concierge level!;)

We stayed there the end of this Sept-Oct 2. We LOVED it!! No matter what the GV's are a little bit of a walk to the lobby, but they are well worth the walk. We were on the Sunset SV and couldn't had been happier. We looked out and saw Kidani right across from us. We couldn't say anything bad about it!! I wanted the Sunset SV since it was one of the only two in Jambo that could be considered closest to the lobby lol. The views were amazing, the people were wonderful, the lobby is so gorgeous, the pool is great... I could go on! You will NOT regret your stay what so ever!! We LOVED having the pool table also. TOTAL bonus over the Kidani GV, but Kidani is two levels. My children were 2 and 1 so I didn't want to have to deal with any steps which is why we chose Jambo GV over Kidani. Seriously we LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!!! I hope one day to stay in one again!!!

*edit* here's a link to my trip report. I put some pics up http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2571542

We stayed at a Grand Villa this Thanksgiving (room 5394). Just one word of warning......once you stay in a Grand Villa there is no turning back. We absolutely LOVED, LOVED, LOVED staying in the Villa at Jambo. The room and views were amazing! The walk in closet in the master bedroom is like a room in itself. The master bathroom is unbelievable. Pictures do not do it justice. We absolutely want to do the Grand Villa again (the only bad thing is the point cost:rotfl2:). We stayed there for 5 of our 9 nights last stay.

We were told that our room was actually bigger then the Presidential suite there! It was a bit of a walk from our room to the lobby but we didnt mind. there were 10 of us in our party and we had PLENTY of space! Any questions just ask.

They are fantastic! Our walk from the lobby was a hike but it was worth it! We really liked that the dining room table could comfortably sit all 12 of us.

I'd love to go back. Only Vero Beach has a better GV, IMHO.
