Grand Villa Availability

Hi guys.

I wondered if there was a way of checking availability of Grand Villas for DVC members without actually being a DVC member (yet). Every time we come we would look to stay in a GV , but if they are generally available in most resorts at the 7month window then I can be fairly flexible with my home resort. I would still buy somewhere that we would be happy to stay of course. And I appreciate that the availability may vary depending on what time of year we travel (nearly always October but would like to come for Christmas one year).

We don’t allow people to check since things change regularly and unless one can book, it doesn’t really matter what is and is not open.

But, it all depends, like every room, when you will go and where you want to stay. I think at 11 months, most are available.

If you are traveling in October/Christmas and always want a Grand Villa, if you buy DVC you will need to book at 11 months and plan on staying at your home resort. Some years you may be able to switch to another Grand Villa, but you should go into it planning on staying where you buy. Even booking at 11 months, you may miss GVs at BWV during those times since they can go very quickly. The fourth quarter of the year is the busiest time of the year for DVC.

Although, I will point out that there is a surplus of points in the DVC system that will take a few years to shake out. During that time, you can expect members to splurge on larger accommodation, more frequent visits and longer stays in order to burn their points before they expire. But that post is the nearest that the disboards comes to predicting availability in grand villas.
