Grand Villa Availability- Adventure Season

Just bought DVC in March and I am curious to the usual availibility of the Grand villas during the Adventure Period? We are hoping for Dec 1-14 or January time frame. Just curious if anyone had experience booking.

Early December is a very popular DVC period because the Holiday decorations are up and the points per night are low. You'll need to book that pretty much day by day, at 11 months out especially considering the relatively low number of GVs.


After school break ends and before MLK day is a less crowded time, but MLK weekend is busy. It is always a good idea to book as early as possible, especially for a GV, no matter which resort.

I figured that they would be hard to get from reading the posts. But worth the try if i can get it - we would be happy with a 2 + 1 config but since we
bought on our march trip into Aug use year, we have a sort of surplus for this coming year where we could use for a grand villa- just an idea being tossed around

-- On a side note I see you’re a Old Key West Pro- I don’t see any negatives to the resort, but I was curious why such a point discrepancy ,Dont know if you had any opinions if you had stayed at others. We bought SSR. Thanks for any info.

OKW was the first DVC resort. Disney had no idea if a Disney timeshare would sell. We early buyers were offer great prices and incentives. However, once the point total for a resort for the year was set, they are stuck with it. They have realigned the OKW chart once, in 1996. Adventure Season studios went from 69 points per week to 80 points per week, and points decreased in other parts of the chart. While they can increase points in one ares of the chart, they must be lowered in another part to balance. Overall, the total points on the chart for a year can not change.
