Grand One

Has anyone been on the Grand One recently? I wondered if the sound system has been installed so the soundtrack for Wishes can be played onboard.

I also have a question about Grand 1. Do you book this 90 days in advance like the specialty cruises?

Can you book ahead for a Wishes cruise time even though the Calendar for that time hasn't been released? Will they just reserve the fireworks time for your party?

Also, do you prefer a cruise for 2 or "the more the merrier" with Disers invited to join in the fun?

They are getting a new boat and that one will have the music on it. They scrapped plans to have it on the current Grand One. Not sure when the new boat is coming, my guess is towards the end of the year.

Yes. You call the GF Marina and touch the button for the G1 (can't recall which it is) and leave a message. They will call you back.

Can you book ahead for a Wishes cruise time even though the Calendar for that time hasn't been released? Will they just reserve the fireworks time for your party?

Yes. They will book an estimated time, and then call you to adjust it about 30 days out.

I think it's more fun when people join you. We did it once with a couple we know from the Orlando area, once with family, and once with a group of Dis'ers. All three times were a blast!

Just as an FYI, they've had a price increase to $375 per hour, and that doesn't include tips for the captain and first mate, or food & beverage. On certain holidays, there is a two hour minimum.

Good to hear that as we missed out on our G1 Father's Day cruise because of engine problems with the G1....

They "made up" for it, of course, with a MK Dessert Party, but I'm looking foward to doing that cruise!

I am disappointed to hear the music won't be available on the Grand One while we're there.

Can you hear any of the Wishes music? Wondered about buying the CD and bringing a portable player - anyone else do that? or have any other suggestions?

We heard the Wishes soundtrack coming over the water in February with no problem. There is a CD player onboard both up on the bridge and down in the cabin.
