It is my understanding you can call MS as a DVC owner and get a Grand Gathering number for your group if you have ressies. True? We have 9 adults and 2 todllers (2 familes), booked at SSR , 1st week of December.

Is there any advantage to getting ADRs for the group using a GG number?

Also, looking for opinions of the GG Breakfast at Tony's in the MK please.

Thanks alot ................Bob

I am interested in this as well. We have a large number going in October and I had difficulty getting tables together. I also just learned about Tony's, and I would love to hear more.

we just had a GG number assigned to us for our Dec trip. Not sure if we're going to do anything with it though. We're getting the dining plan, and the GG meals use 2 TS credits. I'm not sure that it's worth it, since I can get character meals that are only one credit. Would love to hear others' opinions on this. My 180 days is on June 13, so I'm thinking of calling to see if they can do a better job getting me the ADR's that I want so that we can all be seated at a table together. I know some restaurants can't do large groups at a table (such as Sci-Fi), but I don't think I picked any of those.

And yes, I called MS, and they took care of giving us a GG number.

I believe that Tony's GG Breakfast is only 1 TS credit.....................:cool1:

hmmm.... i'll have to check that again. That would be cool if it were only 1TS. The guy from MS I spoke with said 2TS for everything, but he could have been wrong. The Tony's one did sound like fun.

Our family did the breakfast at Tony's last year and it was only 1 table service credit. We enjoyed it, but you're definitely going for the fun and character interaction more than the food. The food was preplated and was good, but nothing spectacular. Chip & Dale were there along with Goofy and Pluto and "Tony" came around to greet everyone. They recognized anyone with a birthday or anniversary celebration and then called all of the kids to the center of the restaurant to do some fun singing and dancing.

Everyone got a special pin that we could take right to Philharmagic for priority seating and at the end there was an appearance by a "special guest" and each family got a photo opportunity.

Is the grand gathering service anything like the concierge at the hotels - meaning will they call to make the reservations for you if you give them a list of what you are looking for? Or do you just get a number that entitles you to call and book the special meals etc. yourself?
Anyone tried the Magical Fireworks Voyage and know what it "costs" in DDP credits?
