"Grand Gathering" Options

We've done the "Safari Celebration," which culminates with dinner at the Tusker House. Can anyone tell me what the other "grand gathering" activity options are, which ones you've liked, and whether you believe certain ones are better for girls or for boys?

Unfortunately, as of January 28th, Grand Gathering events were discontinued.

We have a Grand Gathering booked for this upcoming August but it only applies to the resort reservation -- it means the ressies are linked and the resort will make every effort to place them together. Otherwise, no special events anymore.

We booked larger meals for our "gathering" at Chef Mickey's and Whispering Canyon as both could appeal to both sexes and all ages. We are staying at the Beach Club, and one night Grandpa is going to take all the grandkids for the Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream.

You could book wishes -- order a special cake at a restaurant -- go on a tour (if kids are old enough) .... you just have to make your own Grand Gatherings.

We went to WDW last summer as a grand gathering (24 of us at the Poly). While we had an amazing time together, we were disappointed to find that really all GG means is Disney trying to accommodate you as best as you can with Resort room assignments and dining seating. There weren't even any Grand Gathering buttons. At that time they did have GG events which were extremely pricy and because of the price of each one, it was hard to get 24 people to commit to an activity.
