Hi, I have been trying to search for any information on this dinner. All I found was 1 thread with a borderline negative/neutral review.

Has anyone done this dinner? What was the food, service like?

Anyone? :confused3

Thanks

Has anyone done the Magical Gathering breakfast either? I can't find info on either of these. I did find reviews on the Safari Dinner though.

The dinner itself-food and service were just OK. There's food from Germany, Italy, Morocco (don't remember others). There's also a separate table for children with chicken nuggets, pizza, etc. However, the Illuminations part was incredible. Over the years we've seen Illuminations from many different places, including on 2 Illuminations cruises, This was undoubtedly the best view we've ever had. The desserts were great too!

Thanks! That is really the main reason why I want to do this. :wizard:

I just can't believe that there is hardly any info on this. I was looking all over allears and the disboards.

Well, let me weigh in, just to give you a little more info.

This was last year, so some things might've changed. But several of the countries had "stations" in the old Odyssey restaurant - you just sort of circulated around and helped yourself. A couple of the items were really excellent - the pasta was freshly cooked and tossed, as I recall. Other items were just OK, but nothing was awful by any means. Service was minimal, as you'd expect from a buffet, but our plates were cleared and our glasses refilled promptly. The entertainment was not anything extraordinary, but there was plenty of character interaction and photo ops. Kids loved to dance with 'em! I do remember our hostess/MC was sorta cheesy.

BUT - desserts on the edge of the lagoon were pretty wonderful (lots of small portions, so you could sampe to your heart's content), and there is no possible way to improve on the view for Illuminations. It made the evening very, very special. Thumbs up from our whole party.

There is a review but on a board that shall not be mentioned ;)

Our group will be doing this September 1. Will have a full review plus pictures!

From what I have read, worth doing.

Thank you scratch! I think I am going to make the reservations. It sounds like it can be great. Hopefully I will get to see your review before I leave. I hope you all have a good time!

Our family is also doing this dinner in July. party: Illuminations is DH and my favorite. So I cannot wait to see it from this view. I will hopefully have pictures and a review when I get back.

I am so excited! My travel agent just got back to me and we are confirmed for Sept 11. We always try to do something new on every trip, and this will actually be the first time any of us has seen illuminations! I am not sure how we have always managed to miss it.

That sounds just like the one we had last month. Oh, yeah-they had lots of dessert left over, and the wait staff was encouraging us to take left over desserts back. Unfortunately we didn't have any ziploc bags with us.

Note to self ~ Bring Ziploc Baggies! Sounds like Breaky for the group in the morning! :rotfl:
