Grand Gatering

Has anyone did a grand gathering? If so, my question is were all of your rooms together at the resort you stayed at. There will be 5 families in our group and I have requested our rooms be very close together. Since our ressie is under a GG # do you think we'll all be together? Anyone have any past experience with this?

We did and it was great. About the rooms together-think about-do u really want it?? They will do adjoining rooms (only 2 together-obviously, but all rooms will be on the same floor if its avail. ) We opted for sepearte rooms throughout the resort. After a hot day, cranky kids, and grammy's advice all day on how to help out with the kids etc-you might want some alone time. !

1) Usually Grand Gathering rooms are close together.
2) It also depends upon check-in/check-out dates of other guests.
3) But, they do try their best.
4) Priority room assignments, in order
. . . specials and/or true VIP's
. . . handicapped (some HC rooms are kept unassigned until the arrival day)
. . . rooms for medical reasons
. . . connecting/adjoining rooms with special circumstances
. . . Grand Gatherings
. . . other touring groups
. . . individual requests of guests (room views, location, connecting, families, etc)

NOTE: Under no circumstances are any rooms guaranteed, just preferred/requested.

We had a Grand Gathering in April and had 4 rooms at POFQ. We all arrived on the same day; had three different check out dates. We requested that two of the rooms be connecting (both were checking out on the same day).

When we checked in, we had four rooms all in a row. But, none were connecting. We asked to have the parties that wanted connecting rooms moved to rooms that were connecting. They were not able to accommodate that request until the next day. At that time, they moved the two parties' luggage to the new rooms which were on a different floor, but in the same building.

We were happy with how everything went on the rooms. I think the GG makes it more likely that you'll be placed near to one another.

p.s. The OP's title for this thread made me laugh. Where is the huge gater?!
