Can anyone tell me what the GF is like? We are staying there for our honeymoon! I don't think we are going to upgrade to concierge...any thoughts?

The Grand Floridian is BEAUTIFUL! I am going tomorrow :teeth: and it will be my 7th time staying there. I absolutely love it!! It is gorgeous, luxurious and has incredible restaurants. I also love the pools and the monorail to Magic Kingdom (3 min.) and Epcot (you transfer at the Ticket and Transportation Center...) I also love the water mice (little boats) you can rent and hearing the Train from the MK in the background...
It is a fabulous choice for a honeymoon! You will feel like the Princess you ARE;)
I recommend doing a search under Trip Reports of the Grand Floridian and read about others' trips. Some people use the term "stuffy" to describe the GF. I completely disagree! While it is very elegant, one can wear dresses or shorts and a tee shirt and be equally at home! Enjoy and Best wishes on your marriageprincess:

We honeymooned there is April.

My main advice, is to plan to spend considerable time at the GF, not in the parks, running around etc.

The parks will always be there. You will only be on your honeymoon this one time.

Relax and soak in the wonderful atmosphere at the GF.

We loved the pools, the beach, the walk over to the poly, the lobby, watching the wedding parties come and go......it's fantastic.

The rooms are gorgeous too.

DH liked the speaker in the vanity area. He could hear the news while shaving.

I loved the wicker hamper, we never had to look at wet towels.

I second everything johnsonet said! ::yes:: The GF is a wonderful place in which to spend your honeymoon! DH, DD5 and I will be there for our 3rd time this November - when we stayed at the CR this May, DD kept asking why we weren't staying at her favorite hotel (spoiled already! ;) ). It is definitely not stuffy - it's luxurious and relaxed at the same time. It can be as formal or casual as you make it. I feel equally comfortable whether I'm wearing shorts and a tee or a nice dress for dinner (although I'm in shorts and a tee 99% of the time!). My DD is energetic, to say the least, and we are never looked at or made to feel uncomfortable on those occasions when she may run through the lobby or speak above a whisper, as some posters have feared! You will love it - Congratulations! :wave2:

My husband and I spent our honeymoom at the GF 8 years ago and it was really wonderful. We are heading back in November for Thanksgiving.

Be sure to enjoy all this wonderful resort has to offer... and congrats!!!
