I have a few questions about what to expect next month when my husband and I visit the Grand Floridian.

The room was a wedding gift, so we didn't book it.

How do we know what location our room will be?

The confirmation we were given says concierge D.

Do we know for sure if this is the main building, or could it be the lodge concierge?

Should we contact the hotel before we arrive to make sure we have a quiet location, since that is more important to us than the room view?

I've read about service elevators, etc, and would hate to have our honeymoon spoiled by a poor room location.

Our priorities are a quiet room , and a balconey.

***I'm also wondering if towels are provided at the pool or do I need to pack those?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi. You will LOVE the Grand Floridian!! It is absolutely beautiful.
If your confirmation says "Concierge" then I would assume you are in the Main Building. I believe it would say "Lodge Concierge" if you were in that...
Yes, the pools both have towels so do not give that a second thought.
I know nothing about the service elevators but I would not give that another thought either. GF is the MOST deluxe resort on property and your trip should be fabulous and as relaxing as you make it;)
I would contact the hotel...possibly call Central Reservations (# should be on your confirm) and give them your res. # and ask them for the Concierge phone #. Call GF Concierge and give them your room requests.
Have an incredible trip!! You are going at a beautiful time of year:sunny:

Karen,

I just checked through my old confirmations and the ones I have for the main building, do say Concierge D. My lodge one actually says "lodge". Looks like you will be in the Royal Palm Club concierge, what a wonderful gift. As part of concierge, you will recieve the services of a pre-planner. Sometimes they will contact you in advance, but not always. If you have something specific, like a room request or dining reservations, I would just drop them an e-mail at WDWGFPlanning@disney.com . They'll be happy to help you with anything that you need.

Towels are provided at both pools. In the theme pool, they also have a water slide and cabana's are available on a first-come first-serve basis. There is also a bar area that serves drinks and snacks. The theme pool has an entrance off the beach also. The other pool is much larger, with lots of tables and chairs. A smaller bar area is located here, as well as the hot tub.

If you've never experienced the Royal Palm Club or the Grand Floridian, then you are in for a real treat. It's our favorite resort and being inside the main building is beautiful. The concierge lounge overlooks the main floor and at night you can enjoy a glass of wine, or coffee while listening to the orchestra play. Very romantic.

You might want to request the honeymoon floor. It is the second floor of the main bldg. It has it own special entrance on the side near Gasparilla Grill with a very nice elevator. It is not a service type. The concierge do tend to put honeymooners on this floor because it is quieter. All the rooms overlook the dock are and face north to the MK.

You still have access to the daily buffets as well.

Thank you for the information!

I'm getting so excited. We check in on my birthday, April 21st.

I have another question.....we got our little packet with luggage tags, check in info etc, and included is something about free mini golf.

Where is the mini golf located?

Karen

Fantasia Gardens mini golf is located by the Boardwalk and the Winter Summerland course is near the Blizzard Beach water park. Unfortunately, I can't find my choices listing from our trip in January, but if I remember correctly, you could choose one thing from about 4 or 5 options. One was a music CD, a Leave a Legacy Tile in Epcot, character poster, one round of mini golf, and I don't know if there was anything else.

I think the other option was lunch at planet hollywood in downtown disney
