Wow! Congratulations! Should certainly be a trip to remember!

Have a look on www.allears.net under resorts, they have very detailed info there. Also The Ultimate Guide has info on best rooms.

I've read that it is best not to request a specific room number as if someone is still in it when you arrive they don't know your requirements, ie view, quiet room, easy access etc. its better to list your requirements individually and they will try to meet with your requests. Does that make sense :confused3

You will love this hotel, we have stayed here and have never had a bad room! As lizzy lemon has suggested better to list your requirements rather than specify a room! Some of the garden view rooms offer great views of the marina!

And don`t forget ask to change your room if you don`t like it! Although we make requests sometimes we don`t get the location we want however the check in staff will do their best to accomodate you.

To get a "good" room you should send a fax to the grand floridian front desk about 3 days before you are due to arrive. The fax number is somewhere on the boards.

We sent a fax to the WL requesting a room near the elvators, and centrally located. Upon check-in they told us we had a "free upgrade" and the room was great (and it was just by the elevator and the snack bar.)

If you have a reason as to why you need a certain room, it usually works better. For instance: need elevator close because of wheelchair.

Try and get there early. Our flight was delayed and then we messed about going to the shops. I thought that we must have had the worse room in the whole place as they told us it was the last one! and after spending so much money decided to buy into DVC. so all in all our Grand Floridian trip was one of our best trips so far!

You will have a great time

I emailed my request to this WDWGFPlanning@disney.com

Ask for a corner room as they are larger than the average room and have 2 full size balconies.....check out www.ourlaughingplace.com for virtual tours of the resort (and the corner rooms) ours was in Boca Chica 4th Floor and it looked toward the Castle on one balcony and the whole of Seven Seas lagoon on the other!!

Enjoy your visit, you picked an amazing resort!!!!

We stayed at GF in February and are going in August. We stayed in Boca Chico and we have requested to be in that building again - we got upgraded in February but I dont know if we will again - good luck with your request :thumbsup2

Our room rate for our Dec trip was approx $339 per night - this is low season and the cheapest time - if this helps? :thumbsup2
