HELLO FELLOW DISNEYAHOLICS!!!

Could anyone advise me on the best way to get to the GF from the Swan??? My DS7 has reservations for the Pirate Adventure which starts @ 9:30 am and I don't know the best way to get there :confused3 . I would appreciate any and all information including the time we should leave to arrive by 9:15. Also, what are some activities I can do while he is gone???

Thanks in advance for the help!! ;)

84 days and counting...

Hm There is no direct connection between Swan and GF to use Disney transportatioon - There is more than one way to get there:

Take the boat to MGM and then take a bus to GF

Take a bus to MK and then the monorail to GF

You would need to plan at least an hour and a half, maybe more.

My reccomendation and what I would do is spend $15 and take a taxi. You would only need to leave 45-30 minutes and still have plenty of time to stroll the GF grounds.

Take the bus to the MK and then monorail to the GF. Plan on it takign about an hour. It's quite probable if you catch the bus without much of a wait that it will be around 35-40 minutes.

But you MUST plan on an HOUR!

If you don't catch the bus and one just leaves, it could be 15-20 minutes for the next one. Then it's a 15 minute ride (a little less but I like round numbers) to the MK. From there you might need to wait up to ten minutes for a monorail, and then it will make three stops before the MK--so it could be 20 minutes or so on that!

If you leave at 8:25, you may be late and your son would miss his cruise.

I agree with Ann. Plan at least a full hour and if you arrive early, then you won't have to rush. If you tend to run late, make it 1 1/4hours. ;)

While he's having fun, you could have a leisurely breakfast at Grand Floridian Cafe. Strolling the grounds and checking out the shops is fun, too.

Has anyone been to the Spa at GF? I was thinking of getting a massage while my DS was on his cruise. Any comments????? Is it close enough to the pick up location? Speaking of which does anyone know where to go for the Pirate Cruise?

The spa is nice--I've been there a couple dozen times. Not world class, if you want that head to Canyon Rach at Gaylord Palms. but it's nice. Not sure you'll really ahve time for a massage. The drop off point for the irate cruise is the GF Marina--it's on the total opposite side of the resort, and about a 15 minute walk to the Spa unless you're really hoofing it.

If the Pirate Cruise leaves at 10:00am, you'll want to make a 10:30 appointment, that's still a bit tight to walk to the spa, get checked in, and get into a robe and ready for your treatment. If you get a 50 minute massage, when it's over you'll get done around 11:20--and you still have to change, chek out and walk back to the marina. That's a REALLY tight schedule.
