Any opinions on the Wonderland Tea Party at the Grand Floridian out there? Will boys like it too?

I was wondering the same thing. Thinking about doing it for my DS 4. He loves Alice movie and loves the Mad Hatter, but I was afraid that it might be too girly also, being that it is a "Tea Party"

My DGD did this last fall. We didn't get to see too much. There was one boy at it with all the little girls, most of them in fancy dresses. The Mad Hatter is a Riot! We kept peeking, just a little. DGD was a little scared at first. She settled right in, so we toured the Grand Floridian. We left a disposal Camera with her name on it, they did take pictures for us. I have still yet to see them.
I guess you know your son, my sons would not have liked it. There is a Pirate Cruise that I tried to get my DGS on, but it was booked, so I gave him the money to shop at the Lego store. He was happy. ;)

My DD was 4 when she went to it last January. There are no parents allowed so she loved it! I gave her my camera and she took a bunch of pictures inside. It did seem kind of "girlie", lots of flowers and such, and I do not recall any boys being there. I only have daughters so I couldn't tell you if a boy would like it or not.

They have some interaction with Alice and the Mad Hatter and they get a souvenir photo at the end. They decorates cupcakes and eat them with some apple juice for a snack. Apparently, it was enough of a "meal" because my DD didn't want any lunch afterwards.

I thought it was a great deal for $35. I dropped off my DD and then I went to Gasparilla's for a quiet lunch of my own.:coffee: It was nice to have a little down time, even if it was only an hour.

Sounds like a lot of fun. I think my son would enjoy it. Since he is only 4 he probably won't mind yet or even notice too much that it is a little girlie. I am sure it will probably be the only time he will do it. The older he gets the more he will not want to. I have heard about the pirate cruise, but we did one in the Outer Banks recently. Maybe I will save that for the following year.

I think a 4 yo boy would have a great time! From what I saw, it looked like a "birthday party" that you might see in a kindergarten classroom...except much fancier! I bet he'd have fun. You might want to prepare him to be the only boy there, though. I'm sure he'd get a lot of attention from Alice and the Mad Hatter. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks, that does help! I think he will like it too, especially b/c he is very used to being the only boy. Almost all of my friends have girls and he tends to make girlfriends at school anyways.

My kids are a little older. 9, 9, and 11. The website said they could participate up to 12 years. Did you notice any older kids? My boys did enjoy the dinner with Cinderella and the step-sisters, etc. at the Grand Floridian. But because there were so few boys, the characters really made a fuss over them. I had considered the pirate cruise, but we also have done that at the outer banks and also the lunch is pb&J and I have one allergic to PB. The dining reservation person I talked to said they would not make changes to the lunch for that "adventure"pirate:
