just wondering if you can use the summerhouse location for a dessert party? if so how much does it cost? any info would be appreciated!!!! i would like to find another option for a dessert party outside of the parks to try and save some money!!! :thumbsup2 also pics would be great if anyone has some. :goodvibes

I have seen people use it before but I do not know if it is a standard location. I would have your WP check into it. The thing is, you can not hear Wishes from the Summer House. I remember someone else saying they would have had to pay for AV to hear the music. It was pretty pricey.

If I remember right, Janet2k had a party there. I also wanted to have a dinner there for my guests after my wedding. The GF booked it for me, everything ordered, and just a few weeks before we were to travel they realised I was an intimate bride and cancelled it all. So I guess if you are a custom bride then yes, as long as it's available you can have it there.

thanks guys i think i do remember hearing it was rather expensive to have the music piped in  Janine do you remember what the cost was gonna be to have a dessert/ dinner party there, i am a custom bride by the way but it stinks you can't still have something being an intimate :confused3 do you think its less expensive than say an illuminations party?

janine, if you dont mind me asking, how come you were an intimate but had a reception at the AA in epcot?

Basically we had everything booked for a dinner party at the GF outside close to the summerhouse. I was told that even though I was an intimate I could have a dinner party there if I did the leg work myself, and not through my EM.
So I did this, I booked the dinner, floral, lighting, characters, entertainment, music, the whole LOT! We were very happy with our decision as we could still watch wishes too.
Then on 21st December (7 weeks before we were due to fly out for our fairytale wedding, where dreams come true) I got a phone call from a manager at the GF to say they had cancelled the whole lot as intimates should not have a tailored reception, only custom brides.
Even if I didn't wear my dress, and called it a boirthday party as my wedding day coincided with my birthday, they still wouldn't allow it as it was in their eyes my wedding day, and it just wasnt allowed.
I was furious with them as I had been allowed to book it all. Also that same day my DH had just had 6 hours of major kidney surgery, so I was really not in the mood to be told that.
I made a complaint to the head of the DFTW dept, and basically due to the nature and the small amount of time I had to re-book and also look after my sick Husband to be they gave me a few options, and the AA parlor was one.
They would never do this normally and I am eternally grateful to them for the way they put it all together for me. I was emotionally exhausted with the whole thing and was within hours of cancelling the whole lot.
Dinsey have some mad crazy policies, which doesnt make sense sometimes. You would think they would rake in as much money as possible if people were keen to spend more money than usual on an intimate wedding, but no.
They are the best entertainers in the world though, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

wow Janine I am so sorry to hear that, but i am glad things worked out for you in the end :goodvibes it sounds like you still had a great wedding :wizard:
