grand floridian parking?

Do you have to pay to park at the Grand Floridian if you just want to go there and look at the hotel (i.e. christmas decorations).

You shouldn't have to pay for it. Just tell the guard at the gate you're visiting, and he'll probably give you a parking pass for a few hours.

Valet is $7 per day. Self parking is available for free, across the street.

If you're only going to visit to look around, the walk might not seem as bad because you'll only be doing it once. But yes, if you are staying at GF and using your car at all - valet all the way.

I think we made one trip to the self park on our first stay at GF when valet was still free for resort guests. I was young and stingy and didn't like the idea of spending money on a tip for the valet. I got over the $1 or $2 it cost after the one trip to the self park.

I agree about the self parking, it stinks. IF you have valet at another resort you can valet park there (GF)for free though.

I usually combine it with a visit to the MK, stop either before or after.
