I am getting married at Disney in December. We are going to stay for about a week after the wedding. I dont know where to stay GF of Poly. I have stayed at the poly before and loved it, but I like the Honeymoon suite at the GF. The suites at the poly are very expensive. Any sugestions???

I have stayed at both resorts. I think it comes down to taste. I like the Poly much better than the GF. I love the grounds, the walkways, lush gardens, torches, that whole tropical feel.

We've stayed at both as well, and we prefer the Poly. The GF is gorgeous, of course. We’ve not experienced the suites, so I can’t offer an opinion. We’ve tried concierge at both and definitely prefer the Poly concierge.

The Poly is quiet and lush. The main building and the grounds at GF get a lot of visitors who hop off of the monorail to see the ambience. Perhaps because the Poly pools and water view aren’t visible from the monorail, it seems to have fewer “visitors”.

I prefer the POLY myself - have stayed there and not the GF though I go to the GF each trip to eat and last year to look at Christmas decorations. I love the POLY romance and tropical feel and just love watching Wishes from the beach. The only thing about the POLY that I would wish to be changed is the lack of a hot tub....

we love the GF! We've stayed twice and will be there again in Oct. But before you get set on one resort (especially a popular one) you should check availability. December isn't too far away and a popular time. Not trying to discourage you, just don't want you to be disappointed if rooms aren't available.

Funny you should ask.....we spent 8 glorious days at the GF after we got married at the Poly...SUnset Pointe....we spent days at the Poly prior to the wedding....so glad we moved to GF...just a different feeling...especially on your honeymoon.
Love them both......have a great time! We were upgraded to a LV in Boca Chica and could see the Castle from our balcony

I strongly prefer the Poly but they are both wonderful resorts. I think it comes down to which resort theme you prefer.

I love the Poly, but I've never stayed at the GF. I don't think I'd like the "feel" of it. It doesn't seem as quiet and laid back.

I just wanted to let you know that I think I read somewhere that the first week in December there's no availability. I don't know which week you're going, but it seems to be a popular time. I know the Poly fills up quick. Be sure to check ASAP.

GF has a relaxing atmosphere and a great food court and they really go out of there way to make your stay great.

We have stayed at both many times, but for a Wedding and Honeymoon I would recommend the GF resort.
