Grand Floridian or Poly?

I'm thinking of changing my Dec reservation at the CR garden wing to either the Grand Floridian or the Poly. DH is leaning toward the GF, we've never been to WDW, so what is your opinion? We are older, going with older teen DDs, plan to golf daily, before hitting the parks, and Pleasure Island in the PM.

Anyone have any thoughts on service? and just the overall feel of the resorts?

oh - if it is December - it has to be GF. The resort is decorated SO nice for the holidays. It seemed that the Poly was geared more towards families with young kids. The pool is always mobbed with 6 and under!

I have been to Poly and while I like it, I would definately do GF before another Poly visit.

I agree with Suzanne74: the GF at Christmas is jaw-droppingly beautiful.

Between the tree -- that incredible, soaring tree! -- and the chesnuts roasting outside, and the bellringers who perform periodically in the lobby, and the lifesized gingerbread house, and the glittering lights that dot the trees ... who could possibly stay anywhere else?!

WOW! now i want to go in December! i'll put in my vote for GF as well. we love it. love the service. the rooms are great. the restaurants are great. everything is so beautiful. it is a great resort, and it sounds sooooooooooo magical at christmas time!!

I love the Poly! But I agree that it's a fun summertime resort and for Christmas you can't go wrong with the Grand Floridian (or even the Boardwalk) such a beautiful resort during the holiday season!

My vote is DEFINITELY Grand Floridian!!! The first time I walked into the lobby (1989) it was Christmas time. I walked in and just started crying it was all so beautiful.

Hands down, GF at Christmas time....the 5 story tree in the lobby and the life sized gingerbread house are both must sees!

Without a doubt, or second thought, my recommendation is GF. I have stayed at all three monorail resorts, and by far GF is my favorite. And yes, it is absolutely beautiful in December. Have a wonderful trip.

Oh, absolutely the GF. My first stay at both resorts was at Christmas, and the GF wins by a mile
