Does anyone know what the current rate/incentive is to buy the Grand Floridian on the Disney Cruise line. We own at AKL and are looking to possible buy more points at the VGF. How many points do you have to buy. Can you only purchase 50 points at the time of purchase. Thanks - Vicki

We brought BLT on our 2010 cruise and got a discount on the points plus free points to use within our first year. We bought 200 pts and got an extra 200 points to be used by the follow year(our use yr) . The point cost was reg. $120 and we got our pts for $112 per point.

So maybe there is some discount or incentive. I know I keeping getting info on discounts and incentives for Aulani. I just got one this week.

We bought in at GF in Jan. It was $155/point. That was at WDW not on DCL. Dunno if they really give a "incentive" on DCL. Like someone else said we got 130 points for the year before we purchased and had to use them in a year. We did go on a cruise right after we purchased and we did get a big goody bag full of stuff.

We were the Fantasy in May and attended the DVC presentation. The DVC Guides offered incentives for both Aulani and AKV, but nothing for the Villas at Grand Floridian.

DVD's pricing strategy has been different for VGF than any other resort. When sales started in May 2013 for VGF, DVD offered no incentives, not even for the Disney Cast Members. In my opinion, DVD has decided it is willing to accept selling fewer points as long as it can get a high price for the points.

We just bought 200 VGF points on our June 14th DCL cruise. We paid $165/point. The only incentives were immediate access to points and pro rated member dues. The DVC property they were pushing was Aulani -- $160/pt plus on board credit depending on the number of points purchased (125 minimum).

I added on at VGF in May right before I went on the cruise. I wound up contacting my guide before the cruise and told him I was interested in buying a 50 point add on at the VGF. I asked him if I was better off waiting until I got on the cruise to buy points. He told me that there weren't any incentives on the cruise for VGF (which was true), but if I bought them through him, he could offer me the 2013 points with no cost maintenance fees, and allow me to bank them even though I was past my banking date. So, I paid the full price when I bought them, and got the prorated maintenance fees for 2014.
