Grand Floridian/Narcoosees slipper?

I was just reminded by another thread here that one must order the Slipper dessert in advance if you want it at Narcoosies/any other GF restaurant. so i have a couple of quesitons...
we are dining there on the 16th of June and using the DDP...i was planning on having the slipper coem out as a suprise and a nice "extra" dessert for our dinner..can i call the GF a few days before and plan for that or should i do that before we leave? also, i know its an extra charge and not included on the DDP, so that means we can still get our reg. desserts there too right? Hey, i have a sweet tooth, what can i say ? TIA!!!

You must order it at least 48 hours in advance.

It is $14. and not part of the dining plan so you should get your regular desserts as well.
