Grand Floridian Lagoon View

There are, in my opinion, no bad lagoon views at the Grand. Conch Key and Sago Cay, have lagoon views that overlook the Magic Kingdom.

Boca Chica and Big Pine Key also have views of the MK, but also include the Contemporary, the Polynesian and the Wedding Chapel. All Lagoon views have good views of the Water Pageant.

If you specifically want a Castle view you can request, but it is hard to get, as everyone wants this view. I personally like Boca Chica, as all views are good and it is very centrally located.

To access the monorail you have to go in the Main Building, up to the second floor, so all the outer buildings are about equal distance with Big Pine Key and Boca Chica possibly be a mite closer but not much, then possibly Sago Cay would be next. Conch Key would be the furthest, not by much, but it is the closest to the boat dock to the MK. Sago Cay if the closest to the Bus Stop so you see no outer building is closest to all forms of transportation.

Here is a map that will help you place the buildings.

My thoughts:
1. some lagoon views rooms do have a bad view - our Big Pine lagoon view last summer had a view obstructed by a tree - you could see nothing unless you leaned dangerously over the balcony!
2. GF is just not that spread out - I would not worry about being close to the monorail
hope that helps

Thanks guys, we will not be getting in until after 3:00 so it probably wouldn't help to put in a request. I may ask for Sago Cay just for fun though.

On our honeymoon 2 years ago they upgraded us from a Garden View to a Lagoon View in Boca Chica. They put us in, what I believe to be the NorthEast corner (at least that seems to be the direction from the map link on this thread) on the 4th floor. The bellman told us when we entered that it is a larger room than most of the other Standard Lagoon View's, and it was. It had really high ceilings, more square footage, and 2 balconies. One faced right out onto the Lagoon, while the other was on the other side of the corner of the building, overlooking Narcoossee's. Both balconies afforded views of the castle.

I wonder if every building has rooms like this on the corners.

We stayed in one of the dormer rooms on the 4th floor of Sago Kay right on the end towards the MK. It was fantastic and the castle view was wonderful! I wish I could remember the room number.

We just stayed in room 8345 in February which is in the corner of Boca Chita as the previous poster described, although obviously, our room was on the third floor. This is a GREAT room with a beautiful view of the castle, monorail, boat launch, space mountain, etc... from one balcony and the Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, etc... in the other direction...beautiful sunrises over the lagoon in the AM.

The room was definately bigger than average and we fit five VERY comfortably in this room - Go For It - You will love it.

We've stayed in 8345 and 8445 (Boca Chica). The corner rooms are wonderful and the views of the castle are beautiful.
