Grand Floridian - Is it really worth the cost?

What I meant about my smallest rooms comment was not meant to be compared to every Disney Resort there is. For $400 a night, they are small and would not have worked for my wedding. Our hair and make-up girls complained about the GF room sizes as did our MK Photo Shoot Photographer. The Value resorts are the smallest on property however they are also a lot cheaper than the GF. The Poly rooms are huge, same general area and not as expensive as the GF.

Glad you clarified, I just didn't want the OP to think they were somehow the smallest rooms on property or something similar. For us, we got a king bed, so we had all kinds of space. It's been years since I stayed in one of the rooms with 2 queen beds, so I can't really remember to compare. I will say our GF room had way more space than the SSR studios and the King room at CSR we've stayed in since the wedding. And the SSR studios aren't cheap if you pay cash either.

But as a pp mentioned, the "value" of the room comes down to personal preference in many ways. We loved it and it worked for us.

According to the DIS info site, the GF rooms are 440-448 sq. ft. The Poly rooms are 409 sq. ft. My "Passporter" says something a little different ("around 400'" for the GF). The CR is listed at 436 in both sources. At any rate, the Poly, GF and CR are the largest deluxe resort rooms (for Standard category), and neither are terribly larger than the other.

I do know we were in a 5th floor Boca Chica room and it was smaller, square footage-wise, than the other rooms in the building, because of the eaves taking up space in the room and the private balcony.

On the other hand, our Honeymoon concierge room was set up just like the standard rooms (with a jacuzzi tub and better view) and we fit 6 girls getting their hair and makeup done by two ladies (plus DH hung out with us for a while). We were fine. I would have LOVED more room, but we certainly didn't need it.

I think if you stay at the GF and plan on getting ready there, you should DEFINITELY request a King room and try to emphasize your wedding.
