I have a Grand Floridian Honeymoon Room reserved for this summer. After seeing some pictures on the web, and hearing about the room from a friend who stayed there, I requested a Turret room. I also requested a room that would have a view of wishes. However, both the CRO and IPO told me that the turret rooms do not have a view of the Magic Kingdom. My friend swears that she was able to watch wishes from her turret room during her stay. Can anyone confirm the views from a turret room? I appreciate any information you can provide.

My DH and I were in a honeymoon suite back in Feb. It was a turret room and we did not have a view of the magic kingdom. We overlooked the monorail and we could see the wedding pavilion. No balcony. It was a beautiful room and we loved it. I hated to leave it was so comfortable.
Hope this helps.

If the turret room is the room with no balcony and windows all around then there is at least one room to see the castle from. We stayed on the fifth floor and we could see everything from the castle to the contemp, the poly, the wilderness lodge, Spaceship earth, the wedding pavilion, the pools, the beach and the monorail
It was amazing!

Hopefully Heatherlynn will see this as she just returned from a turret with a beautiful panoramic view of the grounds and the castle/ water in the distance. :) I stayed in one of the turrets in the front of the resort with a monorail/pool view. I believe the only real MK view from the turret room would be in the fifth floor turret facing the courtyard side of the resort.

By the way, keep in mind that the turrets are a very popular request. We requested one and it was only available a few nights of our stay (so we switched rooms mid-stay). Most of the honeymoon rooms are on the 2nd floor and are set up like regular rooms but with a king bed and jacuzzi. All of those rooms have castle views though. :)

Here are some pix of a regular honeymoon room:

Note that the view from our room was a bit obstructed by the tree!

And here is the turret room we had that faced the monorail, main pool and Polynesian:

Heatherlynn had turret 4021. Her view pics are on the last or second to last pg of the GF thread.

Misti - pretty pics!!

Happy planning, everyone!! Contemporary Man, have a wonderful stay at the GF.

3 honeymoon turret suites have a view of the castle, the other 3 do not.

Hi Tammi! So, the 3rd and 4th floor rooms have good views, too? I always wondered if it was obscured or not from the lower floors. Honestly, I loved the turret so much that I didn't mind facing the monorail during our stay. But, I'd still love to try one of the three facing the MK side one of these days! Especially if they all have good MK views!

:)

Thanks so much to everyone for your replies. I've heard these rooms are very popular and I understand that not all requests can be granted. I just wanted to make sure that my information was correct when I made the requests.

We are spending 10 nights, so hopefully one will open up. I hate to change rooms when traveling, but it might be worth it.

Thanks again folks!

We had the 5th floor suite (4021) and Janet2K had the 3rd floor suite (4321). I know we could see a bit more of the castle being higher up, but from the 3rd floor, you could still see the top half of the castle through the trees and the fireworks. Really, the only other difference in the 5th floor suite, is that the windows have the extra fan window above them.

We stayed in a turret room just above the area where the band plays. We would go out onto the balcony that was next to our room and watch the fireworks. It wasn't a great view but no one was ever out there. We were always alone.

are "turret rooms" norm called "deluxe rooms"?
b/c we had booked a "deluxe room" once (for the amazing CM price of less than $200 a night) & it had a turret, along with a loooong balcony & beautiful view of the water & narcoose's, etc :cloud9: i just assumed that it was considered a deluxe, now i'm wondering.......

btw, i love looking at the slightly older photos: we have the same yellow "fairies" comforter, bedskirt, huge pillows, & ribbon drapes in our bedroom ~ gotta love e-bay :thumbsup2

The deluxe rooms are all located in the main building. The turret styles there don't have a balcony, so you couldn't have been in the "king deluxe" room (aka honeymoon turret suite).

Were you in the main building?

there are 6 turrent rooms, they are in the main building,no balconies. maybe you were in a dormer room?

I have to say I am so surprised that these rooms don't have a balcony.

OP....I hope you get your room with a view of wishes:goodvibes
