grand floridian experts please

For us, I would much rather save the club level money and use it for other special experiences like fireworks parties, dining packages, tours, V&A, afternoon tea, etc. I would definitely recommend GF, but I don't think you necessarily have to stay RPC to make it a special trip.

It isn't necessarily a trade-off for everyone :) We stay CL frequently, and we also do all those other special things (tours, fireworks parties, etc). I think she just wants to know her options.

If you're going to spend some time at the resort it's worth it. If you have breakfast, lunch and dining rsvps at the parks or elsewhere it's hard to justify the club level costs.

Not quite. We eat TS for at least 2 meals a day on every trip, and we still stay CL. We like the service and the location of the rooms. We like the ability to grab a drink whenever we are passing through. We still eat the snacks and appetizers in the lounge, and then we just make a later dinner reservation. We don't use the club food as a substitute for a meal. I think for a special anniversary trip, it's perfect <3

I'd just add that if you have to "convince" DH that the main building is worth it, you really don't need to have that discussion. The outer buildings are not at all far away and as others have said, it's quite pleasant strolling from one place to the other. The GF is to me just a dream resort in all its various offerings. You can't go wrong!

Happy 40th! Ours is in two years, and the GF is where I hope to be!

Happy 40th Anniversary!

I wish I knew what time of year your traveling!

Anyway, let me start by saying ANYWHERE is the GF will be amazing and special. For me and my DH RPC just wasn't for us, but it was still an amazing trip. First of all we love sitting outside and have breakfast at Gaspies, we're not huge breakfast eaters and the view can't be beat. With RPC the breakfast was perfect for us, but we seemed to miss all the other offerings, timing just didn't work for us. We love going out to dinner and could never eat before leaving. We miss cocktails in the evening and believe there were scones and champagne about the time we returned from the pool, again not exactly the right timing for us. We wound up in Mizner's every night after the fireworks, love the cast members there!

While staying RPC I didn't feel like we walked the property as much as we usually do, it was wonderful in the main building but the property is amazing, but that's just us. The cast members were very nice, but honestly there very nice everywhere on property.

I celebrated every milestone and then some at the GF and WDW, I would suggest any outer building we love Sago Key and Big Pine Key and I would also suggest a fireworks cruise...AMAZING!!! They also have one at EPCOT if that's your favorite park. I would also book lots of signature restaurants which are amazing, especially the 2 at the GF. Don't forget California Grill during the fireworks too!! If you do the meal plan and the signatures interest you, try Deluxe Dining. If your stay is during the summer or warmer months book a cabana for a full or half day. You might think you don't need it, but once you try it you'll love it. All these extra special things and outer building room will probably come to the same price.

Just my 2 cents, either way it will be AMAZING!! Congratulations!!

I agree. I have never stayed in the main building, and while I have read all of the positive aspects of that location, it is a negative for me. I love the walk to and from the main building, and I love the transition from Park Mode to returning "home" at any given time during the day.

One thing about the Grand is that is is a much frequented location, so there is often a lot of hustle and bustle within the main building. I like it, but I also like to leave it behind as well.
