Grand Floridian experts please respond

Since you're all being so helpful. I thought I would add to this thread.

1) If you are staying RPC, can you run into SL to get a drink or snack. Do you have access to both lounges? We are not staying in a suite, just main building concierge.

2) Where is the elevator that guests can use to go to the pool where they won't have to go through the GF lobby?

Thanks,

Lori :cloud9:

You only have access to both concierge lounges if you are staying in a suite. Otherwise, your room key is programmed for whichever lounge level you're booked for. It will either open the doors at SugarLoaf or allow you to access the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors of the main building.

The elevator is tucked into an alcove to the left of Gasparillas Grill. Right between where the main building and Gasparilla's meets, you'll see a doorway. Can't recall if you need your room key to open this doorway, but you do need it once inside for the elevator. It only goes up as high as the 4th floor as there is no 5th floor on that side of the building.

Thanks Tammi, that's what I thought about the suites.

I know exactly where the elevator is now. I thought it was just a service elevator. I didn't know that it was for guests.

Thanks so much,

Misti, we had 4021 last January. It's up on the 5th floor and had incredible panoramic views from the wedding chapel, right around to the castle. The octagonal rooms are much, much bigger than the standard honeymoon rooms, but you don't get a balcony. We had a huge walk in closet, the bathtub was big enough for 2, but I don't remember it being a jacuzzi tub. The bed was a big four poster king bed, plus we had a huge sitting area and a wet bar. It was like our own suite. I believe our friend suite disney has pictures of this type of room on her website.

Just wondering....was this a lodge tower room you are talking about or something different? We are leaving next week for a 3 night stay at GF and we have a lodge tower room. Is it the same thing as turret? I'm a little confused, but I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc

The Lodge Tower rooms are located in the outside lodge buildings.

The turret rooms are in the Concierge Honeymoon room category. They are located in the main building and include Royal Palm Club concierge service.

Have a great trip!! :) :)
