Grand Floridian changing? Construction permits filed

This [second] new permit is also for “general construction”, this time in the resort’s main building. The contractor listed on this permit, Poli Construction, specializes in build-outs, restaurants, and hotels.

Looks like that Beaches For Penguins ;) ice cream parlor might be in the works.
I wonder if the MLC Theming company is going to make some changes or updates to the monorail? Article mentions that it specializes in large scale ride theming projects. Perhaps monorail changes between the new Polyday Inn (LOL it’s so good) and Grand Flo? 🤔

I heard it from a bus driver so it must be true:
They are going to fill in all that wasted space in the atrium lobby in the main building with Hotel Rooms. They should be able to cram about 400 value rooms in there.

Didn't you get the memo about why 1900 PF hasn't reopened? Guess not.

They're gutting it and converting the space to capsule hotel rooms like those popular in Japan: https://www.forbes.com/sites/geoffr...-at-a-japanese-capsule-hotel/?sh=5922c4414485

I wonder if they will be doing something with the main pool area at GF, with the renovations at Big Pine going on, maybe they will be adding something to the bar or more sitting area.
They just did a significant reno on that pool area a few years ago, but I like the thought of your comments around the pool deck and the dining/bar options etc. Would love to see a Grand version of Craftsman Grill at GCH to be adapted next to Big Pine.

Hmmm, am wondering if there's enough space behind the GF Convention Ctr. and Sago Key to put a Geyser Point-type open-air QS and lounge where you can watch fireworks like at GP.

Anybody familiar with the Sago Key Lodge area? Think that'd work?

Unless they build on other side of canal the view would be of a building wall, monorail and parking lot

Please no… it’s nice to have a more adult area.

It's not really setup well for adults currently though. The hot tub is way too small and half the pool is extremely shallow. I found the pool bar to be really small also but they seem to be that way at all the resort pools. It would be nice if they could find away to improve it and add outdoor dining.

Based upon feedback, the VGF3 studios will have 2 murphy beds, 2 oversized mini fridges and 2 microwaves each
Now your talkin! LOL……I’ll take “What’s the Opening Price “for $300 Alex…..
