Since I don't want to spend an arm and a leg at CRT for lunch for my dd's 13th birthday, I'm rethinking my options. I want to get her (and her friend who turns 13 two days later and is going to be with us) a nice, girly, special birthday cake. So, I have to eat someplace that has a nice bakery on-site and can do a cake for me. I did have a dessert/coffee in the GF Cafe once. In fact, it was while my dd and this same friend were at Alice's Teaparty in 2001!!! The other girl's mom was with me and that's where we killed some time. I liked the dessert I had but we didn't really 'eat' there. So, any advice pertaining to this spot? I need someplace that we can order from a menu since the girls love those all-important cheeseburgers!! It seems to be a grown-up and pretty spot, which I'm looking for. That night we will be at HDDR for the late show, so need a late lunch someplace. And of course, dd wants to have breakfast at CP with Tigger that morning!!!!

I like Breakfast and lunch here alot. I did not care for the dinner menu for the price.

They have burgers on the lunch menu and they are also very good about tweaking the menu if you need them too. Leaving something off, adding something, etc.

They have great desserts, too.

I would say go for it. The Grand Floridian Cafe is really good and has a great atmosphere. It is nice enough that if you want to dress up a little since it is your DD and her friends birthday you can do that or you can just wear regular park clothes. The food is really good, I don't think I have ever had a bad meal here and I have eaten there a lot for breakfast and lunch.

Grand Floridian Cafe is one of our never to be missed "hidden gems". The atmosphere is very Victorian and "girlish", the food delicious, and if you want, for dessert, instead of the traditional cake, you could also order a "Cinderella Slipper" for each of them, they are SO pretty. They will write "Happy Birthday "Name" on the plate and I'm sure put birthday candles in the slipper or chocolate mousse that comes with it. They're lovely. I'd say it's perfect. The burgers are delicious!!!

My favorite??? The Chocolate Fondue with Orange Ganache for two. YUM YUM YUM!!! Two more weeks!!! Can't wait!!! I've also ordered Cinderella's Slipper there when we took my brother, the girls got the slipper and the boys got the Dalmation Dog Bones.

We had a great lunch couple of trips back and actually had the best service exp ever while there! We did it for the slipper desserts and ended up loving our meals.

Just a tip I picked up from other posts - if you do go with the Cinderella's slippers, call your order in a few days ahead to avoid disappointment. Tell them the occasion and they should have time to put together something really nice!

Thanks everyone...looks like this is a good choice for the girls. We did have the Slipper dessert back in June at an IllumiNations Dessert Pary. They were terrific, but dd wasn't crazy about them. I think I'm just going to order a special birthday cake for lunch....something girly and pretty.
