SO, We are staring to look @ places to make our ADRs & I just read the menu for lunch & dinner @ The Grand Floridian Cafe. The choices look amazing. I never even heard of it until today, on the boards. Has anyone ever eaten here & how did u like it? The prices are great, so we might even be able to do a dinner show & just pay for this meal out of pocket. Tell me what u think please!

It's a hidden gem!!!!!!! :cloud9:

I just did a review of it in my dining review - links to the different restaurants are in the first post and the link to my dining review is in my signature! (What did we ..........)

We love it! :thumbsup2

We happened to be at the Grand Floridian a few weeks ago for the kids to do the Pirate Adventure. When it finished they were hungry. We didn't have an ADR, but we managed to get in with only a 5 minute wait. I thought it was really great and would definitely eat there again.

We have eaten lunch or dinner here for 3 trips over the last 2 years. We love it! Everything is delicious, very good service and a pleasant atmosphere. Menu has a nice variety, something for everyone. Enjoy!

Interesting to read these good reviews. I just listened to the Grand Floridian review on the DIS Unplugged podcast where Pete Werner said the GCF was horrible, with bad food and terrible service. He said GF itself sets the standard as a hotel, but that restaurant needs help.

I have not been to GCF, only Narcoosee's (which was outstanding).

I think this post says exactly how I felt about it. Had two ADR's one for breakfast and dinner and didn't bother to use the 2nd one (dinner). It was the worst service, food and left me wanting more. I saw the waitress once to take my order and that was it until she brought the check. Someone else brought the food out and drink.

I never heard of it until reading it on the boards and since I was staying at the GF wanted to partake in most of the restaurants there. This one is not on future Disney trips however.

its honestly one of my favorite places to eat while at Disney. Its quiet, the food is good service is good.

I agree it's a hidden gem! We go twice for dinner every trip. The steak is delicious.

We ate there Sept 28 after making the ADR for 7 on Sept 24. The food and service were both amazing. We thought the place was elegant without being stuffy. Five of us had steaks and each was cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were the best I've had at WDW, and it also included another side item. We all got roasted corn, and all of us loved it. Our server opened with "Anything you want, any substitutions on sides, anything special you want, I can make it happen. And she did. We shared 3 dessert samplers counting as 6 desserts on the dining plan. Goodbye Le Cel, hello Grand Floridian Cafe.

This is one of my favorite places to eat.

I was surprised to hear that review. We've been to the GFC at least once every trip for our last few trips and love it. We had slow service once, but not bad service, she just disappeared after our food was out and I had to finally flag someone downt to pay, but stuff happens. Who knows. We've never had "bad" service or anything but great food. Their maple vanilla french toast is the best breakfast on property and their french onion soup is better than Chefs de France. We'll be having dinner and breakfast there on our upcoming trip. :thumbsup2

We loved this place in September. It was a last minute booking and now DH says it's on his must do list for May. Service was great and the food was wonderful. It's was a nice break from the craziness of the parks.

Give GFC a chance. Don't rely on negative reviews. Our lunch in September was outstanding. Chef-created food, professional wait staff who offered more than expected, exquisite decor. We were impressed and will definitely be back. :)

We were there just last week and thought it was very good. I had the pork chop, my wife one of the steaks and it was excellent. Our server was attentive and personable if a little hard to understand (he was from China). I would certainly go here again.

Glad to hear the good reviews because we are going there xmas eve. Last year I found it and looked inside and it's well decorated without being stuffy.

We've been there for once for lunch and once for dinner, and both meals were fantastic. It's on my short list for favorite table service restaurants in all of WDW. The food is very good, and the prices are excellent for a Disney restaurant.

I've said it before on similar threads, but the Grand Floridian Burger is one of the best burgers I've ever had, not just in the parks, but in general.

On our last trip, we decided last minute after MK to head over to GFC. They were able to take us without an ADR and it was the one of the best meals of the trip. Our steaks were great and we had a great table (which is sometimes hard for a party of two to get at WDW IMHO) and the server was the best we had the whole trip.

I made an ADR here for our trip this past summer without knowing much about it other than they had things my picky DH would eat and it was easy to get to from the Contemporary. It was probably the best meal of our trip. I had a steak with parmesan fries and it was wonderful. DH and I shared the desert sampler. Our server was fantastic and the best part was when we got there to check in for our ADR they were able to seat us right away.

Totally agree, it is a hidden gem. I have eaten lunch there on a number of occasions and the soup and sandwich option is lovely. The french onion soup is "to die for". Hope you enjoy too.

Hmmm, never really considered it, but maybe it is worth giving a try. Certainly easy to get to for us Polynesian folks.
