I just called about booking a dinner for 1900 Park Fare, and indeed it's down for refurbishment.

So, they offered me a pre-plated character dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe, including appitizer, entree, and dessert from portions of their menu for around $29/person. I made the ADR because it sounded like a good deal, if the food is good.

Impressions?

(edited to add, in case others are interested, the characters are Cinderella's Royal Court, or something like that.)

I have never had dinner at GFC, just breakfast and lunch. Every meal has been absolutely wonderful.

That being said, I'm very disappointed that there will be no 1900 buffet during our visit. This is the one meal dd has requested. Dh and I love, love, love the food offered (and we don't usually enjoy buffets!!!), and the selection for the kids is great.

1900 was one of the buffets I wanted to try; I thought it might be a step above Crystal Palace, which was just OK IMO.

Anyway, I don't hear a lot of buzz on the GF Cafe, good or bad. Not sure what to think....

We've eaten lunch there twice. We really enjoy it! I don't know about the preplated food, but the lunch was delicious, setting beautiful and the service wonderful. Sorry you cancelled!
