Grand Floridian August rates

I'm trying to work out my worst case/best case budget scenarios for a four or five night stay in the GF in August 2003.

I've been to disney.com and it's showing no availability at the GF for the two weeks at the end of August. I'm thinking this is a glitch, as when I get to the resort inventory page, it keeps refreshing for about 5 minutes then gives the no availability page no matter what dates I put in. Can't be right- or can it?

So far, I've seen that rack rate listed as $449 per night lodge concierge.

Can anyone give me an AP rate for this time period, or are they out yet? Has anyone gotten any rates yet for this timeframe or can anyone hazard a guess as to a ballpark discount rate?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

AP rates aren't out yet.

And, it is very possible that the Grand Floridian is sold out for atleast a night or two within the dates you are checking. I'd call CRO to check and make sure, though.

Thanks Cali- wow, sold out already- guess it's a real popular hotel so that would make sense. We're flexible with dates, so hopefully we'll find something.

I'm holding off on calling CRO, as I'm calling international, so it's easier to scout for availability on the website, then call when I've made my decision re dates etc.

FWIW, I'm having similar difficulties getting any availability at GF or BWI even punching in single dates. Gotta be a glitch.

Something you may want to think about...

Drum Corp International is having the Finals in August in Orlando. so it could be why everything is looking booked. We made our reservations (DVC) as soon as we could.

They usually bring in a big crowd, especially since it is back at the Citrus Bowl again this year.
