Grand floridian anywhere nice for cocktails

thanks to Elise79 who alerted me that the poly is only letting resort guests onto the beach to watch wishes- So I have now changed my reservation for our first night to the Grand Floridian cafe.

We have had to book for the only slot of 5,20pm and we want to wait about to see wishes. Thus the following 2 questions

Can we park for 5hrs (we will have blue disabled badges - but did not plan to go and get the usa one).

Where is there to get some nice drinks while we wait preferably outside- but inside would do. We will have 2 under 21 (18 and 17) so it has to allow minors in.

A huge break in our 1st day (or special night new year/ 4th july) poly meal and wishes tradition - which is a shame as we were looking forward to sharing this with our extended family who have never been. -But glad Elise let us know in advance. May be good to do something different.

i don't know about UK blue disabled badges - i know that with the US badge i can park with the valet for free (just have to tip them).

Perhaps this is also true with the UK blue badge.

Otherwise, you can park with the valet and pay for it, but maybe they do recognize the UK badge?

i have it because i'm an american (who lives overseas) - i didn't do that whole florida blue badge bit.

there is a thread somewhere about how to obtain the florida badge.

but maybe the valet will honor the UK badge (they're not the police after all).

But you could park in the self-parking.
Once you're parked, no one is going to time how long you're there.

I've parked for extended periods, nobody cared.
You might be on the fishing expedition and a meal. That would easily take 5 to 6 hours!
