I really want to stay at the grand floridian in dec 2006 are res for this resort very hard to get we plan on going in early december to beat the crowds i am just scared that i might not be able to get a room. thanks for the help.

Actually cash reservations are pretty easy to get here so I would bet that points won't be that hard.

As long as there is availability at the GF, you can make a points reservation there. There isn't a set number of rooms set aside just for DVC members.

I agree with CarolA - I don't think you will have any trouble, unless you wiat until the last minute to make the reservation.

Best wishes -

I plan on calling as soon as I can. I believe that it is 11 months from my check out date. so I am assuming that would be january 2006. I am determined to stay there. Thanks for the help.

We stayed there last Dec and didn't have any trouble getting a room. We didn't use our points, since I think it is better to use points at DVC resorts.

We did get a good room rate with the AP discount, which helped.

I really liked staying there, but I sure missed the size of the rooms at BWV.

We booked GF Concierge for the 2nd week of December this year on points and didn't have any problems, that was probably 7-8 months out. After taking three family/friend trips this year we wanted to go someplace special for just the three of us, so we're excited to try the GF during Christmas.

I had no problem booking the GF on points at four months out during Easter Week! It was going to be our first trip home in 2002 and The VWL ( our home resort ) was only available for the first two nights so we spent the rest of the week at the GF. By the way, we much preferred our 1 bedroom at VWL to a regular room at GF. But that's just our family's opinion. Enjoy your stay! :flower:

My sis and I stayed at the Grand Floridian a little over a year ago on points from a canceled cruise and had a blast! We had a standard view room booked but I faxed the room assigner (not sure if the resorts accept the faxes anymore) and asked very nicely for a magic kingdom/lagoon view room and we got it! I was very surprised because I know these rooms are hard to get even when you pay for a lagoonview. We had a perfect dead-on view of the castle and Wishes each night. We were in Sago Cay, which is my favorite building at the GF.

Have a great time!

Very Cool ZerasPride! :cool1: And congrats on the 105 lbs down!! I have to say though, not surprised that you ended up with such a great room ;) It's been quite a while but when we booked BC on pts (pre-BCV's) back in Jan. 2001 they gave us an awesome room with a king bed and a nice balcony :teeth: I think they tend to try and get you a great room when you book the regular WDW resorts with points. At least you get that much out of it for spending the astronomical pts they charge for just a regular room :goodvibes

Glad someone asked about the Grand Floridian on points. I've always wanted to stay there (just to say I have). I'm thinking about next September for my 45th birthday! (Ouch!)

I love this thread! :) Dh and I are hoping to stay concierge at the GF on points (for only a few nights) next year for our anniversary. I know it's an exhorbitant cost points-wise, but it's just gonna be so much FUN!!!!! ;)

it sure is a lot of pints but we really want to stay there. We added on points and got 100 for free so we might as well go nuts...
