Grand Cayman to allow visitors!

I was under the impression that cruise ships were not going to Grand Cayman until December. I know that Princess has canceled their docks on a lot of their ships through November.

I agree............

FANTASIC NEWS!!!!

Not only for us (those of us that would rather go to the Caymans), but for the locals that need the tourism.

Considering all of this:

And all the reports that most resorts are not going to be ready until November at the earliest, and some of the big ones(Mariott?) saying they won't reopen until next year soemtime, I really don't know if I'd be all that eager to go back this soon.

That said I hope those of you who go have a good time, the islanders need it VERY badly.

They need our support; those of us not going can express it in other ways:

Costa Maya here we come!

I tend to agree with the "Greetings from the 10/9 Magic" post saying Dec./Jan. - most likely Jan.

Just because the port may be open earlier does not mean the Disney will be going there immediately. I would think it would be a decision for the individual cruises to make arrangements as to when they will return and it sounds like Disney will wait a while.

I booked the stingray excursion with Capt Marvin this week and he sent me an email saying they're all ready for reservations as of Oct 29. They accepted my ressie for arriving in port Nov 9. Also, I'm on the Nov 6 Magic and I think DCL would have mentioned something about Costa Maya to us by now if they planned on changing the itinerary (so we could plan a little) ?
I know people sailing for the month of Oct were aware the end of Sept/beginning of Oct ? I read here on the boards that someone got an email back from DCL this week saying the GC sub excursion would not be available until Jan. You would have thought they would have told that person that GC is out totally----but they only mentioned the submarine was damaged ?

I really would rather not go to Costa Maya (heard the excursions there are not very good---been reading the "live from Oct 9 Magic" thread)......so I'm hoping for GC and that the info from the OP is correct ::yes:: GC is one of the main reasons we even booked the Western.

I am booked on the 10/23 western and DCL credited my account about $27. I think it was port taxes for GC. Think we are going to Costa Maya.

We are on the 11/20/04 Western amd I talked to a "transportation supervisor" at DCL a I was told we are "Definately" going to stop at GC on our sailing. She thought that the 11/06/04 would also........
