A co-worker, that often travels to the Carribean to scuba dive, mentioned Cemetary Beach in Grand Cayman. She described it as a beach that you must walk through a cemetary to get to, then you can snorkel right off the beach. A 15 minute taxi ride can get you there.

Any one have any experiences with this beach????

Thanks for any info!

We walked right past it. They are buried above ground in tombs, not underground, so it is a little creepy to look at, but you don't walk through it at all - it's gated. It was about a 15 walk to the beach. Shoreline is VERY rocky, full of coral with sea urchins hiding in every crevice possible in the coral, so wear water shoes. We did snorkeling there - saw tons of beautiful fish including alot of "Dory" fish. We stayed for about 2 hours, then took a taxi back because we had a friend who lost his footing on the coral and fell - scraped his knee and got a sea urchin needle in his finger (he's fine). It was beautiful snorkeling and then coming up out of the water and looking at the Magic!

I think we've been there once, but we walked to it along the beach from our condo at the time.

Here is a link though to a great site that provides info about the location as well as pictures Off-shore snorkeling sites
