Has anybody done the Island Tour & Snorkeling with Stingrays at this port?

We have 4 out of 6 that want to visit "Hell" and a couple of us, especially DN 10 who would like to do the stingrays.

Just kinda wondering of this excursion is worth the cost.

You definitely want to swim with the stingrays-

It's quite an experience. We did the Capt. Marvins tour. They are good.
I think their webpage is http://www.captainmarvins.com
I don't know if they do a tour to Hell or not. When we were at GC the first time, we did the Disney excursion.

Do the Stingrays! We went with Captain Marvin's and had a great time. Other passengers told us they did the trip to Hell and thought it was boring.

I didn't do the stingray excursion but our friends did and raved about how fun it was. (made me wish I had gone too). On the other hand, we talked to people who visited Hell and they said it was a complete waste of time. I guess Hell is just a weird rock formation and there really isn't anything to it.

We were on the 1/29 Western and did the Stingray City Tour and it was the highlight of the trip. It was our first cruise, and were a little nervous about booking through an outside company, and went with the DCL excursion. We did the one that did not go to Hell, and from what I understand we didn't miss anything. I highly recommend the Stingray City tour though, whoever you choose to book through.

Here's another vote for Capt. Marvin's. We booked CM when we sailed on our only Carnival cruise we took and absolutely loved them!

We did the tour in the morning and Captain Marvin's Stingray tour in the afternoon.

Tour-Caymen is beautiful but wished we had just gone to the beach or shopping.. Hell-No. O.K. it's interesting to look at but you only need about 5 minutes to look and take a picture. Not worth the time it takes to get there! Turtle Farm-neat but you'll live if you miss it!

Captain Marvin's Stingray City-only excursion we booked outside of Disney and the best of the trip. We went on the last one. We were told there are so many trips that by the end of the day the sting rays have been fed several times so there weren't as many as in the morning.

To sum it up go with Captain Marvin's in the morning. In the afternoon shop, go to the beach, or back to the ship to relax.

Have fun!

I am greedy and would love to visit Hell and also do the stingray swim. It is possible and how long would you have to allow for this?

There really isn't much to hell. IMO it's not worth visiting. The stingrays on the other hand are a fantastice experience. I would do the stingrays and buy a hell postcard in georgetown.

Can anyone make a recommendation one way or the other between these two companies? I have heard good things about both. Thanks!

Well it sure seems like Captain Marvins wins the most votes on this board.

I guess we could plan that for the morning and then grab a taxi to Hell in the afternoon. To be honest, the only reason I want to go to Hell is to grab a t-shirt that says I've been to Hell and back, and so when anybody ever tells me to go there, I can reply that I've been there and done that. LOL:earseek: :rotfl2:
