Just a quick question about a couple of the beach excursions for Grand Cayman--In looking at the DCL site, there are 2 different beach excusions...one being Seven Mile Beach Break and the other Rum Point Beach Adventure. I was just wondering what is actually included with these two excursions. I also noticed that one costs $36 and the other is $46, so I wasn't sure if it included lunch. TIA!

I don't know the answer to your question but this is one of the best sites I've found for Grand Cayman information. They also have coupons. It's a bunch of locals that can tell you what spots to visit and what are just tourist traps to avoid.

I don't know what each excursion includes, but I'll tell you that unless it includes a lot it will be much cheaper to do it on your own!!

The taxi ride will cost about $16 for 4 people...if not included where you go, then chairs and umbrellas are normally $5 each.....

The best part of doing it on your own is that you can come and go as you please....

We did Stingray City with a company called Nativeway, and I can honestly say it was one of the highlights of our cruise. I would highly recommend them if you choose to do something on your own. Their excursion was worth every penny!

My hubby and I went on a cruise (CCL) about 5 years ago and the best day we had was in Grand Cayman. When embarking from the ship there are many local cabbies who will take you around the island for very cheap. I think we paid 15$ a person for our own car and driver and we were able to see the
"highlights" at our own pace. The best being the town of Hell and the Sea Turtle farm, when you can see huge turtles and then walk to the smaller tanks and pick up the babies for nice pictures. After that we had lunch at a very overpriced Hard Rock Cafe and then went snorkeling. It was great.

We did the Rum Point Beach Excursion through DCL. Lunch is included. There is a large selection to choose and the food was very good. Rum Point is on the other side of Grand Caymen. You take a bus to another dock, and then take a 45 minute ferry ride to Rum Point. It is fairly secluded and is a very nice beach. There are various water sports you can do for additional cost. We are beach bums so we enjoyed just hanging out on the beach. There is also an open air bar right on the beach. The Ferry only makes one trip back to the Ship, so you have to stay until it leaves. The kids napped during the 45 minute trip back so they were refeshed for dinner. Seven Mile beach is just up the road from where the Magic docks, so the $10 difference is probaby for the extra transportation to Rum Point.

Hope this helps.
