Greetings

Trying to get more info

Does anyone know anything about the 7 mile beach excursion in the Grand Cayman.

From what I can ascertain

You get a bus.
It brings you to a resort or club
You get use of the resort chairs
You get a drink

Which resort or club does it bring you to?
Are there multiple leave times to beach?
Do you get an umbrella?
Are there multiple return times to port area?
What is a drink? (soft or alcohol)
Do you get anything else?

I am trying to compare whether the excursion is better or a $5 per person cab ride to one of the public beach areas like SeaGrapes or Royal Palms
and the flexibility of doing what you want. Beach rentals are pricey (e.g. chair, umbrella)

We did the Grand Cayment Beach excursion from the Magic in April 2005. At that time the Disney group was taken by bus to Sea Grape Beach. Upon arrival we were escorted to a roped off area of the beach set up with lounge chairs. I remember getting a bottle of water, but don't know if that was the only option. We had a "beach attendent" who just looked after the Disney group getting drinks, etc. At the appointed time we packed up and took a bus back to the dock.

The only "advantage" of taking the Disney cruise was the guarenteed seating on a prime spot of beach. It was very crowded at Sea Grape the day we were there and would have been a hassle to rent lounges and find a good spot.

Yes, the ship excursion is more expensive than doing it on your own. However, if I went again with small children (I had a 3-year old with me) I would do it again in a heart beat. No hassle and we had a lovely time.
