Grand Canyon Skywalk

I wouldn't be able to walk out there! I'm a chicken when it comes to heights like that. I can handle speed rides and rollercoasters, but I would have an anxiety attach trying to walk out.

Me too. My heart was pounding just looking at it on the web site. Two steps out on that thing would have me collapsed into fetal position, rocking back and forth praying for a Xanax.

I don't think I could do it. The fact that it has a glass bottom would creep me out. If it had an opaque bottom, I might do it. I'd still be afraid that the Skywalk would collapse while I'm on it, though.

I would DEFINITELY walk out on this. Way cool.:thumbsup2

I am not sure I would be comfortable paying $75 to walk on it!!!!

To me it seems wrong on many levels, isn't the Grand Canyon a National Park and belongs to all of us? I dont mind park fees for maintainence but this seems crazy expensive.

eta: the article says $25 but the news was saying $75 so not sure but still expensive

I'd probably walk on it, because it looks so cool! But I'd be freaking out the whole time. :scared1:

We are taking a family vacation to the Grand Canyon in June. We already have plans to do this!! I am as excited as can be about going out on it. DW.......eh.....not so excited. Now she will do it......but she's already nervous.

I will have pictures to share when we get back.

I think it's pretty cool and would like to visit! Plus it helps out the tribe so that's nice.

Just wanted to make sure you (and anyone else who might be planning on traveling) know that this is not not near where most people refer to as the "Grand Canyon." This is on the Hualapai Indian Reservation and not under the juristiction of the National Park Service. It is about 240 miles (or about 4.5 hours) away from the South Rim visitor's center.

Here is the website for Grand Canyon West

Yes, I am aware. We will be out in the area for a total of 10 days.

Thank you for posting this! We visited the Grand Canyon in 2004. I was so amazed at the beauty of the Canyon and to think they would put something as "commercial" as this on National Park Service land was upsetting me. I still don't think it belongs at a natural wonder like the Grand Canyon, but at least it's on Indian reservation land (private land) and not part of one of our natural parks.

I know, I know.....there are hotels and gift shops at the South Rim so it IS commercialized, but at least they're not protruding into the canyon itself like this Skywalk, you know?
