Grand Canyon - Helicopter

I will be booking a Helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon but I thought I'd ask your opinions before I do this

Is it best to book online from the UK? If so can anyone recommend a good company that they've used.

Should I wait til I'm in Vegas and book it there? If so where? and with who?

Last trip we used Sun Dance http://www.helicoptour.com/ wh were very good. They pick you up and drop you off back at the hotel. We booked on line from the UK which was really easy to do.

Next trip we are going to book with Papillon http://www.papillon.com/ as they do private flights which we want to book. They also pick up and drop off at the hotel, plus if you are an AA member you can use your AA card to get AAA discount with them.

I personally would book the tour before you go, but I personally like to make sure everything I know we want to do is booked before we leave for any trip.

Could you also tell me how long the Helicopter flight is, from the Strip to the Grand Canyon

It depends which package you book. The one we did was 3 1/2 hours from hotel pick up to them dropping us back off (frm what I remember). I think the flight part was about 45 minutes each way. We also landed in the canyon for lunch. If you look on the websites above they outline the specifics of each of their packages so it tells you the flight times for what ever package you are interested in.

We booked with Pappilon also. And we booked in advance online from Australia. The tour was fantastic. We did the flight from Las Vegas, helicopter flight into Grand Canyon and then pontoon down the Colorado River. Definitely a highlight of the trip.
