Grand Canyon Concourse Rehab has started

I'm hearing that the rumored rehab of the Contemporary's 4th floor (Grand Canyon Concourse) is about to begin. Supposedly, WDW requested construction permits in late December for the rehab of the Fantasia Store which will be converted into an arcade.

Does anyone have additional info. regarding this rumor?

You know, I posted some info a while back regarding a number of changes going on at CR. Well, we were there just before Christmas,and paid a visit to the resort. On the Concourse level, the stores seemed to be already finished, as well as the center area between the two rows of shops.
And although we were told that there were going to be more changes a month previous to that visit, it doesn't seem to make sense that they would have redone the whole center area between the shops, only to rip out a row of shops to replace them with an arcade, possibly damaging the new floor they put in
Anyway, we will be making a trip next weekend to renew our passes, and I plan to check it out.

Just to let everyone know, over the last several days construction walls have gone up around the Fantasia store for its conversion to the arcade. The name of the new arcade is "Contemporary Games".

The area is far from complete. Even the new carpet between Fantasia and BVG will be replaced once again.

Interestingly, Concourse Sundries will be staying put.
