Can you get a bad view from this hotel? I know where it is and I don't see anywhere where you didn't have a view of something nice (DCA, DLH, DTD) Thanks

I dont think there are any areas that are bad- for example I dont think you'll be looking at a parking lot. Some of the rooms look into a courtyard. It would be pretty, but not to exciting.

We had a room looking into the courtyard. It is a very pretty area and could watch the monorail go back and forth. It made me wish there was a stop in the GC for hotel guests only.

There are rooms that overlook the valet parking area of the entrance to the hotel and on to the self-parking area. Not the greatest view. We were assigned a room with that view once and talked them into changing our room.

Most of the other views are fine: DTD, the courtyard, and our favorite view:
California Adventure. Did you know that they drain Grizzly Rapids each night? Besides waking up early and watching the lights of the maintenance trucks drive around the park in the dark, around dawn they pump the water back into GR with a mighty whosh as the water begins running over the drops and falls and the geysers begin gushing. Quite a way to begin your day!

I balk at spending the extra $$ for park view, but we've had it twice and loved it! I like the Downtown Disney view & hope to get that one later this month. (It was so pretty at Christmastime!)

I've had Downtown Disney View & the view looking out to the Disneyland Hotel (above the entrance). I really liked that standard view. I could see the monorail go past, the Disneyland & Paradise Pier Hotels, and the top of Mulholland Madness, as the cars raced around the tracks in DCA. Standard worked fine for us, but I would like to stay in a theme park view room next time.

When my DW and I stayed at the GCH last Aug. We had a standard view which was very nice view. If you are looking at the entrance to hotel, we were just about all the way to the right, top floor. From our balcony we had a nice view of DLH. Looking a little to our left, a nice view of PPH. If we turned 90 degrees to our left we could see some of the rides at the PP section of DCA. To our right were views of the DTD leading to DLH. Needless to say, not a bad view at all.

Also, if you do stay, take the tour of the hotel they offer in the afternoons. It is about an hour long and it is a neat tour. The CM explains the theming of the Hotel as well as the Arts and Crafts movement and some of the pieces of art in the Hotel.

Regardless of what view you choose it is an amazing Hotel.

The courtyard is pretty, but boring. The monorail drives through regularly and you can see the very highest of the fireworks from some of the rooms, but otherwise, nothing exactly "Disney" to be seen.

We've had the view right above and facing the hotel entrance/valet and thought it was decent. We loved being able to leave our room and be surrounded by the great hearth. It was near the elevator and very convenient.
