Hi Everyone!

We are spending one night at the GCV in a one bedroom. We would like some assistance on room requests and location. Thank you!

We will have two toddlers with us. I do not think we want a ground floor, pool view for this reason. We plan on spending most of the time in the room on the day of arrival / that evening (as we booked the hotel for a celebration and are not going in the park on that day).

I think I want a park view with hopes of watching World of Color from the room, although we could go to the DVC viewing area. I could be sold on a pool view if someone were to tell me it was sooooo much better.

Please help with understanding what I can include in my request and what you would suggest.

Thank you!

Pool view is fine but I wouldn't call it soooooo much better! ;) Although if you're going very soon they do still have some construction going on at the pool area so it hasn't actually been all that great for the past few months. That is supposed to be finishing up soon though.

You want a Paradise Pier park view - high floor if you want to see some of the WOC. It's a side view and trees are getting taller so you do want to be at least 4th floor or higher. It's also probably the most requested set of rooms though too.

We just stayed recently at GCV for about the 4th time. We usually have requested high floor with park view and except for once, I believe we have received it. I will say this last time we went though, we are about done with that view. It is just really loud. Most rooms sit right outside the Paradise Pier area where they have several noisy attractions. You hear nothing but screams and theme park noises all day long. It made it unpleasant to sit outside. I guess a few years ago (when we were a little younger) we were more tolerable, but we just found it loud and obnoxious. BUT the view is pretty spectacular, and we COULD see WOC from the room (at least parts of it), even when DS was in his trundle bed in the 1BR and when you close the sliding door, it is relatively quiet. If you don't plan to sit on the balcony much, it's probably the way to go.

OMG, I wish I had gotten this advice about a week ago! We got a last minute one night in a studio and specifically requested several rooms by number which were supposedly great for WOC view. We got our second choice (5504) and the view was very good which we enjoyed. BUT, soooo noisy! I especially don't recommend rooms near Paradise Pier when they are hosting grad nights. I finally lost track of the screaming and dropped off to sleep around 2 am I think. In the future I would ask to be away from that area. Everything else about our stay was outstandingly good.
