Grand Californian Spa Groupon Question

Has anyone used the groupon they offered several weeks back yet? How much did you tip? I remember them saying that they had to charge something which they called a service fee and when she explained, it sounded like a tip that went to all the employees. I know you should tip on the original price and more for better service, but between the "service fee" and the reduction in cost.... Not sure where to even start. :-0

I just redeemed mine last week. It was heavenly and worth every penny and more.

First I got the "polish" which was a choice of sugar or salt that was massaged in and relaxed me. I then showered and was given a choice of four scented oils for my massage. After that, he immediately did my scalp massage with the same oil.

When I checked out they recommended a few products for purchase, I stated politely that I was not interested and not another word was mentioned. I was then told a 20% service fee was added to my bill ($19.80) and if I wanted to add any addtional it went straight to my therapist. I added a bit more as I felt the service was excellent and the spa very nice. I charged it to the the villa. They had the most delicious tropical iced tea and a bowl of fresh fruit. I took a plastic cup to go along with an orange. The only thing they lacked which I found odd was I forgot to bring a hair rubber band with me and they didn't have any. I wanted to put it in a ponytail.

I hope you enjoy your spa experience, I sure did.
