Does anyone know when the sales will begin? I'm not sure if we will add-on, but I would be interested to look at the points chart and think about it. For those of you "in the know", why the long delay between announcing the project and the start of sales?

Thanks,
Lisa

I'll throw in my guess that sales will start June 2009, give or take 12 months.

All I know is my guide has my credit card number... :woohoo:

I'm thinking sales will start in early 2009, but who knows. Progress on the construction has been slower than I was expecting.

I still haven't decided if we'll actually buy into DVC, but if we did, I would definately buy GCV. That is if there's any points left to purchase by the general public.:goodvibes

If sales don't begin until 2009 is this a "normal" delay? It seemed like the time between announcement of AKV and sales was shorter. Perhaps the sluggish economy has had an influence.:confused3

The models at the Disneyland Resort are closed because both are being turned into the Grand Californian DVC models...so it is in a matter of months.

I heard the rule is that the property has to be 70% complete before sales begin. Not sure what the estimate is for that date, but I agree that it would be strange to have the models available for too long before they can start selling ..

Related question, what happens if you purchase interest in a resort that's not yet completed? Can you book reservations for after the expected completion date, or would you only be able to use the points at other resorts until where you purchased is open? Has anyone had experienced with this at other DVC resorts?
