We're staying at the GCH for the first time Christmas week. Any recommendations about the best view to book? Is concierge level worth it?

TIA :)

I like the downtown Disney view, because you can see the fireworks from there, but it really depends on how often you are going to be in your room and what you want.

The CA view is cool (I'm fuzzy on what exactly you can get for each price point, or if you have to have a one or two bedroom to get certain views).

We did concierge at PPH and it worked well for us because we made the effort to use it. We had breakfast every morning, grabbed water and soda and snacks to take into the park and we made sure to be there for the cocktail hour thing they offered.

If you don't do that, I don't think its really all that worth it.

As far as view goes, we usually just book a standard view, which is fine. Last time we got an upgrade - we were overlooking the pool and could see Mickey's Fun Wheel and the PP area of DCA including some of the WOC shows. It was really nice, but I'm not sure I'd pay extra for it again. (I think that must be a pool view room?)

Concierge is awesome, but not always worth the money. Like the PP said, if you make the effort to use it it's great. We liked it as a place to go and hang out other than our room or the freezing cold lobby. You can grab a snack whenever you want, have breakfast there, and bring some snack items and drinks into the park which is really nice. Our kids also liked the story time and there are games in the lounge as well as DVDs to borrow from the concierge desk. It is nice that you can watch fireworks with the sound piped in too. Our favorite use for it was when our group was waiting for WOC (back in the days when you had to spend 2 hrs. waiting in your spot), one person ran back to the concierge lounge and came back with cookies/desserts and drinks for all. :)

We have decided that, for the food and the convenience, it's worth around $100 a night for our family of four - we'd go up to $150 a night.

Whatever you decide, have a great trip! :cool1:

We love the premium DTD view, I would have to assume that the whole place is decorated for Christmas, just love the view and night music.

We had a nice pool view, but I would think the DCA view would be the best!
