I had a vacation at DL in Feb 2007 and i did the Grand Quest but i was a Disneyland Hotel guest they let my family do it but they would not let us have the prize
My ? is what is the prize / treat
Thanks Adabob

I know there are many that will have a more complete answer than mine, but we won the quest last year - so I know a little!! When we won last year, we got a cookie - and we were the Grand Family of the Day. They asked us to be in the lobby in about 15 minutes and presented us to everyone with a bouquet of balloons. I think we also may have gotten an autographed character picture, but I don't really remember. The coolest part of the prize for us was they gave us a key to the concierge (sp?) lounge that night for stories/snacks/fireworks. It cut into our park time a little bit - but it was a rainy trip so it was nice to snuggle in for some stories. A ton of fun, and we might try for it again in June when we're back!

We love doing the Grand Quest so we can be the Grand Family of the day. We've done it several times, although guest services keeps a record, and they didn't let us have the prize when we had already won the prize during the year on a previous trip. When we've won we received everything Heatherann23 mentioned (including the signed character photo). We loved the trip to the concierge lounge. When the fireworks are taking place, you can sit in the lounge and listen to the music, eat the yummy treats, and get a great view of the fireworks without fighting the crowds. It is a fun prize!

uh, call me dummy, but what is a Grand Quest?? :confused3

I am going to Disneyland on Wed for the week staying at the GC..

The Grand Quest is a little treasure hunt-type activity. You get a sheet of paper from guest services that has questions you need to find answers for at different areas (the gift shop, whitewater snacks, spa, etc.).

We have generally been the only family doing it when we have been there, so I don't think the competition is really stiff!

And when (time of day) should you ask to do this?

The grand quest is usually in the afternoon sometime, which is probably why not many people do it. In the little information sheet you get each night with the turndown service, it lists the time. I don't think it is limited to families with kids. At least I don't remember seeing that anywhere.

ok thanks!! i will inquire about it when i check in. this may be something fun and different for the kids. ;)

Is this just at Grand Californian? It's been about 3 years since we've stayed there and I don't remember this. Sounds like a lot of fun. Gives me an excuse to stay on property again:goodvibes

The Grand Quest is only for GC stayers and it starts at about 4 pm there is a board in the looby over the scale of the cruise
Thanks Adabob

This sounds like a great activity for DS 13 - do you think he'd be too old? I know he's worried about coolness of DL trip...

you are never to young to do anything like this at disney
