Grand Californian in August?

Cheapest rates I can find are on Expedia for $335 a night . Anyone know where I could find cheaper rates. We are using points to stay but MIL, Mom and 2 nieces need to pay cash.

I got great rates at the Grand Californian in January by buying an annual pass. Annnual passholders get better deals (in general). Just call up and ask for the Annual Passholder rate for when you want to go. If the rates are really good it may be worth it to buy one annual pass (you just need one - not everyone needs one). You don't have to have the AP when you call. You can buy the AP right before you go. I have checked all of this out. My rate for Jan at Gc is $159.00 per night weekdays and 179 on weekends. Some annual passes are not for the weekends so be careful what you buy. We are only going on weekdays. Also i bought my AP right before the rates went up a month ago. The benefit my still be worth it though at current prices. Hope this helps.

When in August are you going? Unlike WDW, most of August is "peak" season for Disneyland and the hotel discounts will be few and var inbetween. Also, with the 50th anniversary celebration, I think the rates will stay very high.

That's still DL's "peak" season. I hate to say it but, I just don't see that rate coming down much more. Even the Paradise Pier will probably be $200+ a night at that time of year.

Also try expedia , believe it or not they often beat Disney prices.

That was from expedia. I think it is slightly cheaper than Disney but still a lot of money. I guess I'll make the reservation after Christmas and if I find something cheaper I guess I can always cancel it and rebook.
