How many of you believe you'll need to be in the Founding Members program in order to purchase GCV? With such a small number of units I really don't know which way it will go.

I will not. I don't need that quantity in WDW only to have to add more to be able to stay at GCV. So..I will wait with fingers crossed for my 60-70 points.

I believe it will have a lot to do with how many people know about all the changes coming and how Disney promotes it. Less people that know the easier to get points. With that being said I predict lots of points available the founding members status is a marketing tool to stir interest and sell points imo I do not see big point contracts selling easily as DL is a great park experience but WDW is more of a resort experience. Even though we are FM we are adding on a small contract for possible summer holiday use.

Hmmmm. Let's see. 50 2BR units. If the average weekly cost is say 300 points, then that is 50x300x50 weeks for a total of approx 750,000 points.

If the average purchase is 75 points, that means approximately 10,000 new buyers. I'm quite sure GCV will be available for a while. Remember that by it's very nature, I think the add on contracts will be smaller as one and two week vacations to DLR are not common.

My guess, 1 yr to 18 months before sold out.

I ama wee bit nervous about it...

But it falls into the catagory of... Nothing I can do about it, so I just have to wait and see

My dilemma is whether I want to purchase 110 points now to get the FM program, 2008 points + 100 developer points and sell 120 when we add on for the GC. If our Hawaii exchange goes through for this fall, it will take all of my 2008 points and most of 2009 so I could use a few more points.:rolleyes1

No, I don't believe you will have to be a Founding Member to be able to buy at GCV. I think that even if every FM added on the guaranteed 160 points (not gonna happen) there will still be points left over for the rest of us.

My guess is that they are estimating FM's will purchase about 1/3 to 1/2 of the points, leaving the rest for membership and the public....but that's a big guess...

We'd like to, but probably will wait a bit. I kind of think it will be longer to sell out. I definitely want to purchase there, since 3 of the 5 of us are natives of CA and get out there each year. It would be very worth it to us to be members on both coasts!:3dglasses
