Grand California question

Hello Everyone,
I’m normally a lurker but I have a question about Staying at Grand California. I’m looking to book a trip in May and am looking at GCH as my hotel of choice. I have a fear of elevators and wanted to know if there are rooms located on the first floor? I also wanted to know if you can request a room on the first or second floor? Lastly, does the building have stair access.

They have ground level rooms.

In addition to the ground level rooms there is easy stair access from the lobby to the second and third floors. So could request ground or second floor close to lobby.

We were on the third floor on our last trip and used the stairs a lot. There are other stairwells where you can exit into the courtyards, but we weren't able to enter through them.

There are 15 ground floor hotel rooms, all located at the south end of the hotel (near Goofy's Sky School).
The stairs near the lobby (noted by the PP) are beautiful wood stairs without doors. These stairs will give access to second floor rooms around the lobby and the south wing of the hotel (~100 rooms), but not second floor rooms on the east wing near Napa Rose.

Can't go wrong with anything third floor and below. Ask for a room that's close to the "Great Hall", you will have close access to the nice staircase

You will need to book a Standard View room to be close to the lobby. That's what I would recommend.

Sitting at the Hearthstone now. Sweet place. Swam with the grandtinker earlier and split a black tap crazy shake with her too. But don't tell her mother! Shhhh. Short trip but off to a great start. Room 2110 just up the stairs from the entrance and around the corner. Grantinker loves the bambi daybed.

Just stayed in a standard room on the third floor. We never had to wait more than 10 seconds for the elevator and the ride to the third floor took 7 seconds (my son counted) and was very smooth. There was also a staircase that was a super easy walk that we used just to switch it up. I highly recommend this location.

We were on second floor and I second your findings. We alternated with the elevator and stairs. Never waited at all.
